Your next adventure starts with us

Join us at Hunt South for an unparallel hunting experience tailored to your desires, ensuring a memorable adventure packed with excitement and insight.
What we offer
We strive to give our clients an “old fashioned” hunting experience where you will spend many hours out in the African bush tracking game. The focus is on harvesting good quality specimens in large areas where game is free roaming and allows abundant numbers of animals to reach full maturity.
Our main area, comprising 22 000 acres, holds significant quantities of Southern African species.
Trophy and management hunts for rifle and bow hunters are available through the cooler winter months that are from March to October.
Our professional hunters have many years of experience and will guide you through your hunt to give you the best hunting experience possible.

Types of Hunts
Rifle Hunting
Your hunting day mainly consists of early mornings with coffee and breakfast after which we head out, normally at daybreak to see what the day offers, accompanied by your Professional hunter and trackers to assist with the hunt. Snacks and drinks are packed to take out on the morning session.
By midday we return to camp for lunch and some well-deserved rest before we head out for the afternoon. If time allows, we have a sundowner before heading back to camp, which is usually just before or after dark.
Evenings are spent around the campfire with drinks and appetizers before we have dinner.
We use either the spot and stalk technique where we drive on the hunting vehicle and once an animal is spotted, we stop and stalk on foot, or we go to areas where we suspect to find certain species where we park the vehicle and then go on foot to see if we can find what you are looking for.
Animals hunted are dropped off at the skinning shed where our skinners will do the skinning and caping of your animals. Skins and skulls are salted and dried from where it will be delivered to a taxidermist who will either do the mounting or dip and ship the skins and horns to your preferred taxidermist in your country.
Minimum of 30-caliber rifles are required for plains game and minimum of .375 for buffalo.
*We advise the use of an agent to do your rifle import permits. This ensures that all your paperwork is in order, and you have a hassle-free entry into the country. They charge a minimal fee.
Bow hunting
Depending on the time of year and weather conditions, you and your professional hunter either leave early morning, after having breakfast and coffee, and stay in the blinds till late morning/midday and return to camp for lunch and some rest after which we head out again for an afternoon session, or we head out late morning with a packed lunch and return to camp late afternoon. You will also have packed snacks and drinks to keep you refreshed in the blinds.
We have dug out blinds and blinds on ground level. The dug-out blinds are built with brick and covered with natural bush to blend into the environment. Blinds on ground level are constructed from canvas and covered with natural bush.
The shooting range very between 15 and 25 yards.
Broad heads: No mechanical heads.
Arrows: Plains game min 500gr / Buffalo min 750gr
Long: Plains game min 60lbs / Buffalo 80lbs

Management Hunts
If you prefer quantity over quality management hunts is ideal where we target lesser quality and young males and also females of certain species. We conduct these hunts for management purposes to help with population control. Species available might vary from year to year depending on which species have to be controlled. Please enquire for more details and quotes.

Terrain
We are situated in the Limpopo valley which forms the northern boundary of South Africa with Botswana and Zimbabwe. You will find typical African acacia bushveld which are studded with Maroela and Baobab trees. The ground is mostly flat which allows for easy walking with the acacia bush changing from dense thickets to open plains with loose standing trees.
Location
Our closest town is Alldays in the Limpopo province which is 300 miles from OR tambo international airport. Transfers from OR Tambo to your hunting area is done by road, an easy 5 hours drive, or an air charter can be arranged. We have a well-maintained airstrip on our main hunting area which allows direct flights from Johannesburg.
Although we can hunt throughout the year, we prefer to conduct hunts from March to October which is over our winter months. The weather is mild and varies between 40 and 86 Fahrenheit. The coolest period is from May to July with the early season March/April and again later in the year September/October being warmer.
